ANG POW GIA LAI ( is the spelling correct? )

Happy Chinese New Year ! Well, I do celebrate Chinese New Year too as my mom is Chinese. For those who don't know, I'm a mixed blood of Sing-halese ( a race in Sri Lanka ), Chinese and Thai. It's great to be mixed, ROJAK, cos I get to celebrate the major festivals in Malaysia. This photo was taken on our way to the mainland closeby Penang Bridge on the second day of CNY. My sis and I, of course. We were going to our Uncle's house in Sungai Dua. Collected lots of ang pow !!!!!

This is the traditional lion dance equipment and the doll, I don't know what it is called. There's a firecracker in the middle. The lion dance was interesting !!!!! The troup performed really well. The doll was cute too. I wondered how the musicians could take the loud drums, most probably used to it d. Then, FIRECRACKERS !!!!!!!!

Then, Chai Sen Ye ( God of Prosperity ) arrived. Wearing shades?????? Latest fashion probably ??? We got him to take a picture with us, my cousin, myself, and my sister. We had a great time talking to our cousins ( as we don't see them often ). Later, we went for dinner. Tossing Yee Sang !!!!!!! sadly, no yam sengssss. Oh !
